Taking Care of Yourself is a MASSIVE part of Taking Care of your Children

This was one of my original posts, and one of my favourites; but somehow it has vanished! As it is a strong believe of mine and the very essence of what my blog is about I thought it was worth doing a re-write!

Taking care of yourself is a MASSIVE part of Taking care of your children and probably one of the hardest parts too! I fully believe this with every ounce of my being.

My children deserve the best, but how can I give them the best if I’m on the verge of losing my shit?!

I love my Boys, absolute adore their bones; love everything about them! Love spending time with them, loving taking them on days out, love playing with them, love cuddling them, love learning with and from them, love teaching and guiding them. But my goodness I would lose my mind if I didn’t have time away from them!

I struggled lot after my second baby, I had zero ‘me’ time, I lost who I was, lost interest, lost focus, lost confidence and it took a long time to get out of that dark place! It took a big change in our circumstances and help from my husband to realise I am still my own person, and yes becoming a mum changed me in many ways, but i’m still me!

I love going to work where I am valued for my knowledge and capabilities. I love working out times a week, it clears my mind and makes my life better! I love having a giggle with my girls friends too! I believe these things make me a better, more focused and happier mummy!

I also love my husband! My marriage is very precious to me and keeping it successful with undoubtedly be good for my children! So we try to have a date night once a month, it doesn’t always happen, (we haven’t actually had one for a while) but it is important to us and it makes me happy! (Little shout out to my incredible MIL who makes this possible)

So don’t feel guilty about having your own interests, being your own person, It isn’t selfish, Its important! It’s essential for me!

I am better equipt to look after my children when I am looking after me!

So good to hear somebody so normal tell us she too loses her shit😂 You have an amazing family and that boils down to how you’ve raised them and nurtured them💕
